Hand rolled beads
Each clay bead is hand rolled, kiln fired, then dip dyed before being individually strung onto a wrought iron frame.
Designed and made by women
A community based project, head designer Merewyn Rossouw and a team of local women harness their natural talents, embracing the beauty of imperfection. Clay is distributed into the communities where our ladies can hand roll the beads. They carry the fingerprints and that is why we like to call them “perfectly imperfect”.

How long will it take to receive my order?
If your item is in stock, we aim to dispatch within 7-10 business days from time of payment. We aim for quicker but we are a small business and each item is checked prior to dispatch. If your item is not in stock, lead time can be approx 12-16 weeks from time of deposit. We will however endavour to keep you up to speed on the status of your order.
How do I know what size it right for my space?
We consider ourselves to be experts at this! There are a few considerations such as size of the overall space and placement of the chandelier/pendant (i.e are people going to walk under it or will it be above a table/counter). If you email your ideal style + plans, images and dimensions of the space to info@klaylife.com, we will revert with our recommendation either by way of a text, email or a face to face call.
What is the returns policy?
We are not mass producers and most of our pieces are custom made. However, should you receive the piece and change your mind, we will accept a return and refund so long as it is not a bespoke colour, size or style ordered specifically for you. In the event of this, you will need to contact us within 7 days of receiving the item to arrange a return. The item will need to be meticulously packed in its original packaging and return shipping will need to be covered by you, the buyer. Please note that we subsidise our freight to the buyer but cannot subsidise return freight. Once the item is received and inspected, if it is in perfect condition a refund for the piece will be issued. If damage is incurred by a courier in the return process, klaylife cannot be held liable and credit / exchange will not be issued.
How much is shipping?
Shipping prices vary according to the size of the piece and where it is going. We usually heavily subsidise the freight price to make it affordable for you. Freight prices can be viewed here. For customers outside of Australia, please carefully read the International Shipping Terms
I'm still building / renovating, can I place a deposit and reserve a piece?
Absolutely! If you would like to secure your dream piece with a 30% deposit, just select this option at checkout. We will happily hold the piece in our warehouse until you are ready to receive.
Can I speak to someone to help my choose the right piece?
Yes we love to chat! There are so many considerations to selecting the perfect light and we are here to help via phone, email or WhatsApp or any other option available.
Is there a warranty?
klaylife lighting is covered by a 12 month warranty against manufacturing faults and defects. Please note that because our lighting is handmade, there will always be some variation in size, shape, colour and finish of the klaylife beads and components. These minor variations are part of the charm of a handmade product and are not manufacturing faults. If faults and defects do arise, please see our formal warranty statement. klaylife, where possible, will also endeavour to have the fault or defect attended to on site so as to minimise any inconvenience. This however will be at the discretion of klaylife.
