About Edgar Chair
As a lover of design, Edgar Weylandt had an original Kilin Armchair in his collection, designed by the famous Brazilian furniture designer Sergio Rodrigues in 1973. Drawing inspiration from this, we have created our own version of the chair in Edgar’s memory. The Edgar chair is made from the genuine leather with a solid oak frame. It also features a unique strapped design, giving it its eye-catching quality and ensuring that it will be a standout piece of furniture in your home.

Bold design with soul. As South Africa’s leading furniture and homeware store, Weylandts aesthetic is about combining clean, confident Scandinavian-inspired design with the raw, authentic textures of mother nature.
Edgar Weylandt opens the very first Weylandts store in Windhoek, Namibia, selling quality imported furniture from Europe, South America and the rest of Africa that he sources through his extensive travels. In the same year, Edgar’s son, Chris Weylandt, is born.
With an infrastructure that enables us to manufacture, source and import furniture and homeware from every corner of the globe, Weylandts established itself as a brand with a reputation of merging the best handcrafted traditions from around the world with the confidence of masculine minimalist design.
Inheriting his father’s eye for extraordinary furniture and an appreciation of good living in its widest sense, Chris Weylandt has developed the brand into one that’s synonymous with bold, confident aesthetics and timeless taste. At the heart of Weylandts’ aesthetic vision is the unique fusion of clean, contemporary design with the soul of natural material.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long will it take to receive my order?
Lead time varies according to the style so best to get in touch first to check availability. We will quote an approximate lead time based on current manufacturing and shipping times at times of purchase. We have containers leaving South Africa regularly so will do everything in our power to reduce lead time as much as possible.
What are the payment terms?
A 30% deposit is required to secure stock. Payment in full must be received before the dispatch of any orders.
What is the returns/exchange policy?
We are not mass producers and most of our pieces are custom made. However, should you receive the piece and change your mind, we will accept a return and refund so long as it is not a bespoke colour, size or style ordered specifically for you. In the event of this, you will need to contact us within 14 days of receiving the item to arrange a return. The item will need to be meticulously packed in its original packaging and return shipping will need to be covered by you, the buyer. Please note that we subsidise our freight to the buyer but cannot subsidise return freight. Due to their size and weight, large furniture pieces also incur a 15% restocking fee on change of mind returns. Once the item is received and inspected, if it is in perfect condition a refund for the piece will be issued. If damage is incurred by a courier in the return process, klaylife cannot be held liable and credit / exchange will not be issued.
How much is shipping?
Freight price will vary according to the size/weight of the item and the delivery address. Just let us know what you are after and we will revert with freight quote and lead time.
Is there a warranty?
Timber pieces are warranted for 1 year from delivery or collection against faults in the frame and workmanship, and upholstered pieces for 1 year on the frame and craftsmanship. The warranty doesn't cover the fabric or leather itself, which wears with use, and it's void if a piece has been altered. Leather and timber naturally vary in markings and colour, that's the character of the material, not a fault, and normal wear and tear isn't covered. If something's wrong, contact us with photos and we'll assess it and make it right.
