Uniqwa pieces are handmade from natural materials using traditional craftsmanship. No two are identical, and the variation between them is inherent to how they are made rather than a flaw in any one piece.

Timber

Timber is a living material. It responds to temperature and humidity by expanding and contracting, so movement, surface cracks and small shifts can appear as your piece settles into your home. On thicker sections, natural splitting is common. These are not faults. They form part of the character of a solid timber piece.

  • Dust regularly with a dry, soft cloth. A slightly damp cloth can be used if needed, then dry the surface straight away.
  • Do not use abrasive, solvent-based or oil-based cleaners.
  • Blot spills immediately so moisture does not penetrate the timber.
  • Keep out of direct sunlight and away from heaters, air conditioning vents and open fires. Artificial heat dries timber and causes cracking.
  • Use felt pads under objects, and lift rather than drag when moving the piece.

Reclaimed and recycled teak

Reclaimed teak carries the marks of its former life, and imperfections are left intact deliberately. Teak also leaches natural oils, so staining on soft furnishings underneath can occur and is unavoidable. Left in natural light and ambient moisture, teak patinas towards a silvery grey over time.

Leather

Leather is a natural hide. Creases, stretch marks, scars, insect bites and colour differences across the hide are characteristics, not defects. Leather stretches and softens with use and develops its own patina. Keep it away from direct heat and harsh sunlight, which dry it out and cause cracking. Our leathers do not need hide food.

Rattan and natural fibre

Dust with a dry brush or soft cloth. Not suitable for uncovered outdoor use. Natural fibre must not be left damp, as mould can settle in it.

Resin surfaces

Resin tops are poured by hand and will not be perfectly flat. Natural undulation across the surface is part of the finish. Clean with a soft damp cloth only, and avoid abrasive pads.

Upholstery, cushions and slipcovers

Plump and rotate feather-filled cushions regularly so they keep their shape. Removable covers should be cleaned according to the care label on the cover itself.

Returns Policy & Refunds


  1. This range is made to order and shipped direct from our supplier, so we are unable to offer change of mind returns.
  2. If your piece arrives faulty or damaged, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with clear photos of the piece and the packaging, and keep any broken parts with the original cartons. We will arrange the repair, replacement or refund from there.
  3. Approved returns must go back in original packaging with the courier we arrange. Where we approve a non-fault return or exchange, a 15% restocking fee applies and transport costs are the buyer's responsibility.

The Serengeti Console Table is a beautiful natural design, the characteristic lines of teak branches give this piece an organic feel.
Made from bleached teak branches with a clear lacquer topcoat to embrace the natural characteristics of teak.

The Serengeti teak range is all-natural wood products and therefore may be affected by its environment. Over time teak products may develop splitting and cracks. These perfectly imperfect traits form the organic beauty of teak furniture.
Due to the inherent qualities of teak branches they may have an uneven texture, tones and colour variations. Please note that changes in the colour tone of teak may occur over time.
A characteristic of teak is also the leaching of natural oils. Unavoidable staining on soft material may therefore occur.
Teak is highly resistant to outdoor conditions, bugs and moisture retention and offers incredible benefits over other natural materials for use in outdoor spaces.
The natural tendency for teak is to patina beautifully into a silvery-grey look, which develops over time in natural conditions, including sunlight and ambient moisture.
The benefits of teak allow it to weather gracefully but also maintain its integrity so as not to degrade like other hardwoods and softwood.
